4x10: Glee,Actually

Here's what you missed on Glee: Sue continues to give us a whiplash with her I hate Glee\I like Glee attitude, Becky is extremely picky in regards to her Christmas presents, Rachel decides to finally acknowledge that she did know Blaine and was friends with him and apparently, Ryan's definition of Kurt "having a Christmas he won't forget" is to give his dad cancer.

Kevin McHale just broke my heart at the beginning of the episode, I wanted to wrap him in a blanket and comfort him. The whole It's A Wonderful Life part was simply wonderful. However, I had a couple of problems with it. They showed Sam and Ryder as douchbags who were bullying Kurt. From the very start and even before joining Glee, both boys were shown as nice people who genuinely cared about others and stood up for them so making them bullies didn't make any sense considering that Glee didn't really change them personality-wise like it did with Finn and Puck. Having Becky turning into the school slut was also strange, I've always felt that Sue was the only one who had a real influence on Becky but hey, Glee actually remembered continuity by mentioning that Artie took Becky on a date so I'm not complaining. One more thing though: season one Rachel was a force to be reckoned with even before Glee so how the hell did she turn into that timid person we saw?

Chris Colfer was gold in that scene. He just looked resigned to his fate when Puck slammed Artie next to him. His attitude sent me propelling into early season two when Kurt was suffering after Burt's heart attack. He looked worn and tired and it felt like there was no more fight left in him. I loved the subtle hint of how Blaine changed Kurt's life and how hilarious was Artie's rendition of Feliz Navidad?

Jake and Puck's relationship just fascinates me (yes, I'm a sucker for brotherly bonding) and the scene in Breadstix with their moms was great. I'm happy that Puck is coming back to Lima but did we have to waste precious time on unnecessary scenes in LA to explain Puck's return? Couldn't they have made Puck just explain it to Jake and be done with it?

Back on the NY front, the world's greatest father showed up to surprise his only child. I absolutely adore any Burt\Kurt\Blaine interaction so be aware, there's a good amount of gushing coming up. After a good day with Kurt being out and about in the Big Apple, he drove a knife through our collective hearts. HE HAS CANCER. Okay, I'm all for angst and story-building and stuff but Kurt have been suffering from a ridiculous amount of pain since the beginning of the show. We really should have seen the whole thing coming though when Burt decided to bring up Kurt's mom for no reason whatsoever. I mean, you usually don't remind your son of his first Christmas without his mom when you're there to celebrate his first Christmas in NY with him, right?

Anyway, because Burt is awesome, he assures Kurt that he will be fine and gives him a heartwarming talk about keeping those he loves close to him. He also brought Blaine to see Kurt and I just melted at "he told me everything, I'm gonna keep an eye on him for you". It felt like Burt was giving Blaine the ultimate stamp of approval. Yes, Blaine made a mistake and he broke Kurt's heart but Burt could see that this boy is the only person who can take care of his son. He even told his son's ex he was sick even before telling his own son. The way he looked at them as they hugged and how he was completely at ease with Blaine back at the apartment, even showing concern about his future plans, just spells acceptance to me. And can Blaine be more adorable? From the second he appeared, he had the puppy dog eyes turned on full force. Give us a break here, you've been ripping our hearts out for months now and we're at the breaking point.

Kurt looked mostly overwhelmed and he came across as awkward in some places but that's understandable. I think it was the combination of bad news and the awkwardness of seeing Blaine when he haven't sorted out his feelings yet. His interaction with Blaine felt like Dalton days to me, one of them making heart eyes at other while the other is more on the cool side, the only difference that it's Blaine pinning after Kurt this time.

I have nothing against Bram, I kinda ship them actually but the Mayan apocalypse thing was too crazy. It did give us some hilarious lines though and they both were their normal adorable selves so I won't complain much about it.

The Marley story line was sweet and I actually liked the kitchen scene. Ending the episode with Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas was epic, with the montage between Lima and NY. I just love any song that shows the Glee club coming together and I basically cooed at Kurt and Blaine being all domestic together. On that note, did anybody else die when Blaine pulled Burt's chair for him? Just me? Okay then.

From a Klainer to Brittana shippers

Dear Brittana shippers:
First of all, I'm sorry for addressing this to all of you in general as it is,in fact, meant for a small margin of you. I know you guys are angry right now because of Bram and while I get it, some of you have been taking things too far.

All Klaine shippers understand what you're going through because we're in the same position. Kurt is getting a new love interest while Blaine is crushing on someone so yeah, we feel you. Unfortunately, some of you decided to go into the Klaine tag to gloat about Klaine getting new love interests, simply because some Klainers ship Bram.

Here's the thing guys, we don't choose what ship to like and by we, I mean everybody. We don't compile a list of pros and cons for every couple then decide to go with the healthiest or the longest-lasting. You just fall in love with a certain couple and that's it. So yes, some of us do like Bram but we never disrespected you or your ship. We never go to your tag to taunt you over the break up of your ship.

We're not competitors or enemies, we belong to the same fandom. We just have different opinions. God know that Klainers came across some Seblaine or Kurtofsky shippers and while those ships make no sense to us, we respect the people who ship them.

A huge part of Klaine shippers also ship Brittana by the way and those who ship Bram care about Brittany, they care about her enough to want to see her with a good guy because hate Bram or not, no one can argue that Sam IS a good person who genuinely cares about Brittany.

Those of you who ship Kurt with the new guys just to spite us though don't care at all about Kurt. We don't know NotPaul (Adam), we don't know if he is a good person, all we have is a name and vague details. So to go to Klaine tag to tell us that you're shipping Kurt\Adam just to upset us is the most immature thing I've ever seen. And leaving comments like: "how does that feel Klainers?" is just plain rude.

If you actually want to ship Kurt\Adam AFTER we meet Adam because you think they're good together or for whatever reason, by all means, do so. Even if you don't like Klaine, please keep it on your blog and stop tagging Klainers in it, that's just asking for a fight. You're entitled to your opinion and we're entitled to ours after all. Please, just try to remember that we're all gleeks and that Klainers showed you guys respect when you were upset over Brittana and Bram so all I'm asking is for you to show us the same courtesy.

4x09 Swan Song

Here's what you missed on Glee: Quinn and Mercedes disappeared in the short distance between the auditorium and the choir room, Tina had Santana's personality transplanted to her, Ryder seemed to forget that he plays football so he joined the basketball team, Carmen finally discovered that she was an idiot for not accepting Kurt into NYADA, Brittany ate things off the floor, Sue was giving us a whip lash with her constant change of attitude towards the Glee club and Blaine was an adorable 5 year old.

Sorry but I'm still not the fact that Blaine had a juice box in his backpack. Of course, that makes perfect sense considering he is five and it was one of the most adorable things ever. Somehow, the judges managed to vote in the 10 minutes it took to get Marley to the choir room and ND lost. The fact that I completely disregarded that in favor of cheering when Kurt mentioned that Blaine called him is really sad but I regret nothing.

So now, Sue is taking over the choir room and practically disbanding the Glee club. The kids joined different teams, Tina & Blaine joined the Cheerios, Artie joined a marching band, Ryder & Jake joined the basket ball team, um, RIB, for the love of God, make one of this cute tree diagrams to represent the characters' history  because it's getting ridiculous, Ryder is ALREADY on the FOOTBALL team. Also, Marley isn't the New Rachel, BLAINE is. Joe's Inter-faith club or whatever it was called was actually one of the most offensive things I ever saw on Glee.

I love sassy Tina but her behavior in this episode was too much. I get the frustration and all, but the fact that she was attacking Marley for being SICK is borderline irritating. Also, why the hell didn't anybody pick on Santana's accusation of Kitty? and Why didn't Ryder say anything despite knowing what was happening? Having a dream is important and all but it really pales in comparison with bulimia and anorexia.

Now don't hit me for saying the following but I actually like Bram. I think they're a cute couple and I know that Brittany's lesbian comment offended a lot of people, but I loved the forth wall shattering moment. However, I really didn't like the implication that ALL Brittana shippers are lesbians and I understand the reason behind the rage though. I also LOVED Brad's comment, I swear the writers have someone surfing tumblr and fanfiction, the amount of things that became canon this season is crazy. Let's talk about Cheerio!Blaine now please, how perfect was he? Only question: why was he the only guy in the choir room during Cheerio practice?

While I'm all for watching a NYADA concert, having Rachel sing TWO solos back to back was too much. Kurt was superb though, a beautiful song accompanied by some serious acting from the amazing Chris Colfer. Here's what I don't understand: Rachel didn't want to call Finn after losing Sectionals so as not to remind him of another failure but she was completely fine with calling him after she won the showcase while he was struggling to hold the club together?, talk about rubbing it in his face Rachel.

I love it when they use a song to end the episode, some of my favorite songs came from moments like these. Don't Dream It's Over was the perfect choice for this moment. The Glee club coming together while singing was a very Your Love is My Love moment.

Thoughts about Not-Paul

Okay Klainers, I don't understand the reason behind the massive panic attack the entire fandom seems to be having. We already knew about Kurt's new love interest and we've all agreed weeks ago that it means NOTHING because our boys are endgame. Seriously, a lot of people are tweeting Ryan like crazy right now and being generally nasty.

Let's think logically here. I know a lot of us thought Klaine would be reconciling at Christmas and knowing it's not gonna happen felt like a punch in the gut. But let's talk facts here:
  • They are the only couple being mentioned in practically every single episode ever since the Break Up
  • They're diving really deep into this whole cheating thing which is a first, cheating has always been the go-to reason for break ups on glee but they've always disregarded the whole thing in the next episode or something and showed everything as fine and dandy (i.e Quinn\Finn\Puck, Quinn\Finn\Sam, Rachel\Finn\Puck)
  • Kurt actually returned Blaine's I Love You, their love is still there ( I think all of us can attest to that one)
Not-Paul (Adam) is clearly a rebound. Remember how Blaine realized that he and Kurt were meant for each other after the cheating and how he seemed so sure as if all his previous insecurities had vanished? Kurt needs to get there too. Only it'll be harder for him because he's the one who had his heart broken. He may forgive Blaine and he may still love him but like he said himself, he doesn't trust him. He needs to learn how to trust Blaine again and get over the insecurities that I'm positive the cheating incident have caused him. They need to find their own separate identities because both have changed so if what it takes for that to happen is us suffering through watching Kurt with another guy, then so be it. Because in the end, THEY ARE ETERNITY.

As much as I hate the whole thing (I'm gonna continue calling him Not-Paul, feel free to join me), I'm more than happy to watch Klaine rebuild their friendship again, I think it'll be really interesting. So please, let's take a deep breath here and see where this whole thing is going before going nuts on Ryan.

4x08 Thanksgiving

Here's what you missed on Glee: season one Quinn is back and she's having a slap-fest with Santana, Kitty continues to be a conniving, lying bitch, Rachel became public enemy no.1 to every Klainer in the galaxy, Isabelle continues to be a kick-ass boss, Marley is still caught in Kitty's webs of lies, Hunter decided to remind us all of his name at Sectionals because none of us cared when he was first introduced as we were busy cooing over Blaine , Kurt and Blaine tore our hearts out then put it together in less than 4 minutes and Mike Chang can actually sing, that about sums it all up.

I have to give a major round of applause to the decor and costume departments, their work was impeccable in this episode. Did you guys notice the black bird behind Brody's shoulder in Kurt and Rachel's kitchen? or the way Kurt cuffed his pants Blaine-style for the first time ever? So yes, I'm in love with all the subtle hints that Kurt is NOT over Blaine. Maybe you can take a hint Rachel and back the hell off. I was annoyed with Rachel in this episode. Granted I'm annoyed with anybody who even attempts to get in the way of Kurt and Blaine being together but she just grated on my nerves. They're trying to make her seem like this amazing friend but all I heard was "me,me,me". While talking to Kurt, she actually said "every time we go home, it make ME sad and we're not like moving forward" then she does on and on about forgetting both Finn and Brody. Um, Rachel, you do realize Kurt just went through a break up too, right? He clearly wanted to go home but she kept pushing because SHE didn't want to go. I seriously wanted to bitch slap her in that scene. And how the hell can you get over two guys at the same time anyway?

How many people teared up at the Old ND's reunion in the auditorium? and how fitting was the song? My heart fluttered at "Just know that you're not alone, because I'm gonna make this place your home". Their Breadstix scene was so heartwarming and you can see Santana's jealousy all over her face. And the train ticket comment? A+ for continuity, Glee. Also, I loved Mike's comment on Blaine and Kurt, a little Bike Chanderson going on behind the scenes here, Mike?

Jake and Ryder were really great, I think I'm gonna ship these two. Quinn annoyed the hell out of me but then season one Quinn always had that effect on me. Why is Marley taking sectionals so hard? Technically, Tina is the one who had the solo, a Koren one at that, while Marley is sharing the load of her song with Blaine. She was billing so much crap on herself that I wanted to tell her to take a breather.

For some reason, Hunter decided to introduce himself which is a first in all the competitions we have seen on the show but I guess the guy is just too full of himself not to let the world know who he was. I officially hate him now, too arrogant for my taste. Go away Hunter and give us Sebastian. Speaking of Sebastian, what the hell was wrong with his hair? Is it a rite of passage for second year warblers to gel their hair to death? The Warbler's numbers were amazing and the choreography kicked ass.

Now my favorite scene in the entire episode: the KLAINE PHONE CALL. Again, I bow to whoever organized the setting, you're a true genius, unknown decor guy. Having Blaine standing in total darkness with a beam of warm light bathing him, gave the impression that Blaine's reality became so dark without his soul mate and Kurt's call was like a warm caress in the amidst of all the struggles. Darren Criss and Chris Cofer stole the show with that one scene. They made us cry, laugh, squeal in excitement and die a little inside in less than 4 minutes, is there anything these two can't do? And Blaine's squeaky teary laugh was the cutest thing I've ever seen\ heard.

For someone who was less than enthusiastic about Let's Have a Kiki and Gangnam Style, I sure loved them. Let's Have a Kiki was fun and energetic and so silly. I'm addicted to Gangnam Style now, a big shout out to Mr. Zach Woodley who turned that song into a great number. I was so sure the writers were setting up the New Directions to lose, especially with Marley passing out but the great job they did with the song and the fact that Marley fainted at the very end leave me in doubt. And poor Marley, the out of focus moving people and the combination of muted\blaring sounds made me dizzy so hope you're alright Mar and that fainting won't cost you the competition.
