Klaine vs Destiel: it's a Hypable thing

image

Wow, people are blowing this whole Hypable poll thing way out of proportion and tearing each other apart.

I’m a fan of both Klaine and Destiel. I was a SPN addict for years before Glee seduced me over to the dark side and to be honest, this war is making me sick.

Why is everybody trying to degrade the other ship? Destiel fans are slamming Klaine because apparently, they are immature, lack development as characters and oh yeah, Blaine cheated on Kurt. Um, they are teenagers for one. The entire show isn’t based on them, they have like 10 other main characters sharing air time and did everybody forget that in SPN, Castiel lied to Dean’s face, sided with Crowley and then took down the wall that was preventing memories of hell to drive Sam nuts or did I imagine this whole freaking season? So you’re comparing an insecure teenager who suffered a temporary lapse of judgement and was immediately remorseful to an angel who “risked everything for a hunter, including his grace” (words of a SPN fan, not mine) and yet betrayed his friend in the worst way possible, was this close to drive his brother insane and he wasn’t even sorry, well not until the levaithans decided to do a number on the guy and take him to a trip in wacko world. You guys think RIB destroyed Blaine? Eric Kripke and Co. RUINED Castiel and their attempt to redeem the guy was too little too late.

Now Gleeks, you’re attacking Destiel fans because Destiel aren’t canon? One word, no actually two words: Brittana and Faberry. Brittana existed in the fandom long before they became canon. Faberry is still a fandom favorite despite the fact that the chances of that ship happening is below zero. And I’m sorry, you can’t slam SPN for using pseudo- innuendos when you have the straight-turned-lesbian cheerleader making fun of Dalton and saying that she had too many gay jokes going through her head. Please don’t tell me she was confused and didn’t realize her feelings for Brittany because correct me if I’m wrong, Santana told Brittany in The Break Up that she used to watch her in sophomore year and would die when Brittany didn’t smile at her. Sophomore year = season one.

It’s so easy to destroy both ships and all four characters, hell both shows, if you look too close and try to use a moral compass. Saying that because a person cheated or another lied, the foundation of that relationship is ruined is just ridiculous. Things do not work like that in real life, let alone a TV show. Things are not right or wrong or black and white. Stop trying to rationalize your reasons for loving a certain ship. I’ve loved ships that were the most dysfunctional and unhealthy ships on earth but I still loved them. There are no rational reasons to justify why you ship a certain couple\ friendship, you just do. Love whoever you want but do not attack other ships and try to prove how much they suck because you’ll face people who will try to prove how much your ship sucks and then, hello fan wars.

New Directions or Warblers?

So I’ve been reading a lot of comments about the Warblers\ New Direction’s fight over Blaine and a lot of people think that Blaine should have ditched ND because they were horrible friends who ignored him and only wanted him for his talent.

I agree that the ND were crappy friends. The guy basically had a meltdown on stage and none of them cared. Then his ex-boyfriend show up out of the blue and nobody thought of checking up on him. Plus, they still call him Blaine Warbler (thank you new guy Hunter for pointing this out) even after being a member of ND for a year.

The thing is: despite them being crappy friends, the Warblers were even worse. ND members tend to be self-absorbed, yes sure but they never hurt each other intentionally and they always step in when things start to go south. When push comes to shove, they stand up for each other.

The Warblers, on the other hand, were the epitome of horrible friends. I love the Warblers but they have so many points against them.  First they were completely okay with throwing a slushie at Kurt, then when it hit Blaine instead, they just up and left, ignoring the fact that their so called friend was on the ground screaming in pain. Even when Santana went to confront them, they brought another slushie to throw at her AFTER she told them that Blaine might lose an eye. Real friends wouldn’t have done that, they wouldn’t agree to slushie a friend, they would have turned in the meekrat who hurt said friend and they sure as hell wouldn’t continue with a second attack after realizing the ramifications of the first one.

Please don’t tell me that singing with ND made everything right and saying that “they now know what kind of person Sebastian is” was completely ridiculous. Because the thing is it didn’t matter what kind of person Sebastian was, what mattered was what kind of people the Warblers were. Sebastian wasn’t friends with Blaine and Kurt so in a way, the Warblers’ actions were worse because they were the ones who betrayed both boys.

Using the argument that ND only want Blaine for his talent is invalid. Isn’t that the exact same reason the Warblers want him? Hunter didn’t try to hide it, he wanted “Blaine: the Dalton Legend”, not “Blaine Anderson” and the rest of the Warblers were fine with that. They tried to lure Blaine in by manipulating him. They did such a number on the guy that he told Finn “they welcomed him like a long lost brother”, they had resort to stealing the trophy to get Blaine to Dalton. If they were such good friends, couldn’t they just ask him to come? Couldn’t they try to figure out what HE wanted before going out of their way to make him feel like a stranger at Mckinley, before using his guilt and his insecurities against him?

Before the episode aired, I was ready to slam both choirs but ND redeemed themselves. Sam didn’t use ND as a mean to get Blaine to stay. He actually talked to Blaine, he tried to find out why he wanted to transfer and he recruited the entire group to assure Blaine that he does have friends in Mckinley. They started a canned food drive, painted over graffiti and got involved in a paint fight, all of which HAD NOTHING WITH GLEE CLUB. They were helping their friend Blaine, not their leader Blaine.

Sorry but I think if it came to a choice between the warblers and New Directions, I would pick ND any day because no matter what mistakes they do, they always bounce back and make it right and most importantly, they care.

4x07 Dynamic Duets

I have one word to describe this episode: fan-freaking-tastic. It was funny, nostalgic and heartbreaking all at once.

The superhero club was hilarious and I loved the gavel, Wes would be so proud, Blaine. I especially loved Artie and Brittany. All the alter-egos were great and did I mention how much I adore sassy Tina? Because I really, really do.

Everything was fun then they had to show that blasted staircase. Come on, RIB, haven’t you broken our hearts enough? Blaine and Sebastian bantering was one of my favorite parts though. I’ve always hoped to see a friendship blossoming between these two so watching them bicker was super fun.

Did anybody else have the urge to punch Hunter in the face? Don’t get me wrong, the “bi-curious” comment was amazing but the guy was too full of himself for my taste. He came across as bossy and cocky or maybe I’m allergic to anyone trying to steal Blaine. All the same, thank you new guy Hunter for pointing out that people are still calling him Blaine Warbler which was cute when it started and all then felt really weird after he transferred and the Warblers left him on the concrete floor, screaming in pain (YES, I’m still bitter about that)

Darren Criss was EPIC in My Dark Side. You can actually the change in Blaine’s feelings reflected on his face, going from being uncertain and uncomfortable to feeling at home while singing with his old friends to realizing that going back means that he’s running away yet again.

I’m liking Jake and Ryder more and more. Their talk in the locker room was really touching and the way they backed up each other was nice. While I like the fact that they showed Jake and Puck developing a relationship, Puck’s presence in the episode felt forced and totally pointless.

Ryder’s conversation with Finn was heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time. I applaud Blake Jenner for a wonderful scene. I know that Sam is also dyslexic but the main focus here was that Ryder didn’t even know that he’s one. In some way, Glee wasn’t just tackling the struggle of being dyslexic but also addressing what a person could feel when he didn’t know that he has it.

Now my very personal favorite part: Sam reaching out to Blaine. I loved that Sam didn’t pick a side. He didn’t condemn Blaine and he didn’t try to downplay what happened just to make Blaine feel better or to win him over. He was a true friend, acknowledging that Blaine did a mistake but that he should try to forgive himself. Followed by a moving duet, bonding during a paint fight and stealing their trophy back, Sam established himself as the world’s greatest best friend. And Brittany’s interaction with Blaine during the paint fight and that sweet kiss made me turn into a puddle of goo.

As much as Blaine’s flashback killed me, I couldn’t help but love it. Again Darren proves how talented he is. It was really short but you can actually see how sick Blaine feels painted all over his face. I was expecting to see Eli and I was really upset that they didn’t give me a face to maul but on second thought, I’m more satisfied with the way they portrayed it. Ever since Blaine admitted to cheating, he kept stressing that it didn’t matter who it was with and that it didn’t matter. That’s exactly what the flashback followed by Blaine’s explanation conveyed. Eli was nobody, he wasn’t important enough to show because he meant nothing to Blaine. He was just a mistake.

Can someone please tell RIB that Finn received enough pep talks to last him a life time? What was that with Blaine calling him “the uniter of friends”? Sorry Blaine but you’re looking at the wrong side, the guy you should be talking to is on your OTHER side, Finn didn’t do anything. Yes, he tried to talk to Blaine but it was really a talk about how Mckinley was his home and how the New Directions need him, he didn’t try to help Blaine except for telling him that he’s the biggest piece of gel the looking AT HIS HAIR. And dressing Finn like Mr. Schue is a whole other level of wrong.

Some Nights sent me into a trip down memory lane to season one and Don’t Stop Believing. It was very fitting to Glee’s way of reenacting past scenes. In Don’t Stop, Finn was coming back to the club after thinking about quitting and in Some Nights, Blaine was. It had a very warm feeling about it and the choreography was perfect, especially the way they all reached for each other while singing “I can use some friend for a change”

Klaine

So before we find out what Blaine really did with He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, and now that I’ve sorta made my peace with the hellish nightmare that was The Break Up, I though I should try to think logically about the whole cheating storyline.

I don’t condone cheating in any shape, way or form. It’s a deal breaker for me and I think the rift it causes in the relationship is practically impossible to repair. But somehow Glee managed to shed a new light on it and made me think about it in a different way. Not that I accept it now, but it made me realize that sometimes, it’s not all black and white. Maybe the reason is that unlike other shows, Glee is showing the point of view of the person who cheated, instead of the one who was cheated on.

In my opinion, Kurt and Blaine’s relationship is one of the healthiest relationships on the show. I know some Gleeks were unhappy because Kurt didn’t stand up for Blaine when Finn was harassing him and Blaine didn’t defend Kurt when Sebastian was insulting him, but I actually saw that as a sign of respect. They respect each other’s individuality and neither need the other to fight his battles for him. They talk before making decisions that affects them both ( in New York, Kurt told Rachel that he talked to Blaine about going to college in New York and Blaine was on board). They make sacrifices for each other, they support each other and most importantly, they communicate.

Klaine always face problems when they stop communicating. That’s the common factor in the two fights that involved cheating. And I think both of them were at fault both times.

Before you guys start swearing at me or stop reading altogether, just hear me out. I’m not trying to blame Blaine’s cheating on Kurt or dismiss the whole thing. I’m just trying to dig deep into the mindset of these two characters and the nature of their relationship because I’m frustrated with the way the show portrayed it.

Anyway, let’s start with Dance With Somebody. Blaine was the one who stopped communicating at first, bottling things up and hiding his feelings from Kurt. Then Kurt followed suit by letting his hurt get a hold of him and flirting with another guy. Sorry, Kurt, but this was NOT texting. That was cheating, plain and simple. Blaine actually got to the core of the problem when he said “talk to me”, that’s what got them into this mess in the first place. Once they started communicating again, they resolved everything. So basically, Blaine was the one who put them on that road on the first place but Kurt was the one who teetered on the edge of cheating. Both were to blame.

Now The Break Up, Blaine tried to reach out to Kurt, he took his own advice and tried to talk but for the first time, they were not in sync. Not only did Kurt fail to notice how much his absence was affecting Blaine, but he also dismissed him in the worst way possible. His actions during this call and the Skype date made it look like he didn’t care about what was going in Blaine’s life or how he was feeling. He was shutting Blaine out without noticing.

Blaine might come across as very confident but I believe he’s very insecure. Let’s review what we know about him, he’s a gay teenager living in Ohio, he was a victim of gay bashing, his family isn’t all that supportive, he is going to a school that he transferred to only for his boyfriend and the friends he made in his new school graduated along with his boyfriend.

Kurt, on the other hand, is going through a new experience. He’s in the city of his dreams, a place where he is accepted for who he is. He’s got an incredible job and he wants to prove himself. It’s completely understandable that he got swallowed in his new life. He needs time to process what’s going on and settle into his new life, especially considering the fact that the year before was really crappy.

Blaine was in the same place Kurt had been in Dance With Somebody, only difference is that Kurt wasn’t there which made things a thousand times worse. And so Blaine made the ultimate mistake and cheated.
I say that they’re both to blame because Kurt could’ve handled some things a little better. Like when he declined Blaine’s call in Makeover when there was nothing preventing him from answering. They were talking about movies for God’s sake, he could’ve excused himself for a minute to answer his boyfriend. Also, when your boyfriend is trying to tell you he’s suffering from you absence, your response should NOT be that some random woman is calling and she always has the best gossip.

But none of that justifies Blaine’s cheating, none of this excuses it. Ultimately, most of the blame rests on his shoulders. He made his bed and he deserves to suffer the consequences. I mean, he managed to get a plane ticket to see Kurt two weeks early, couldn’t he have done that BEFORE cheating?. The scene between him and Kurt in Glease broke my heart but I think it’s well deserved. He broke Kurt’s heart and betrayed his trust. Kurt deserves to have all the time he needs to heal. I don’t agree with his refusal to talk to Blaine but I understand it. He is angry and hurt and yet, he still loves Blaine. You can see how much just seeing Blaine affected him in the way he averted his eyes when they met backstage.

But try as I might, I can’t help but feel sorry for Blaine. He didn’t try to hide what he did and confessed to Kurt right away, he is remorseful and guilty and he keeps trying to make things right.  He knows that he messed up and is not trying to deny it. He is heartbroken and pretty much lonely (the only one who tried to reach out for him was Sam and even he was quick to dismiss his suffering). He’s still fighting for Kurt and I don’t think he’ll stop anytime soon.

People make mistakes and it doesn’t matter how perfect Blaine seems because in the end, he’s still a teenager. He screwed up big time but I’d like to believe that this isn’t the end for them because they ARE soul mates. The great bond they share, the maturity both of them have shown as opposed to the childish behavior of some of the other couples on the show, their deep understanding of each other, everything in this relationship points to eternity. They just need time to heal, Blaine needs to find his own identity at Mckinley and Kurt needs to find a way to trust Blaine again. I firmly believe that they can patch things once Kurt cools off (Yes, I’m a hopeless Klainer, sue me)

4x06 Glease

I have really mixed feelings towards this episode. Some parts were good, some were frustrating and some were just plain pointless. Some spoilers said it would be heartwarming but I couldn’t find anything heartwarming about it, maybe they meant heartbreaking?
The whole debacle with Sue felt very season one. They even used the same music from The Sue Sylvester Shuffle. I don’t know, I was starting to like Glee-friendly Sue and I think Kitty is providing enough antagonism as it is. Alas, Sue is back to her old ways. Who knows, maybe the writers intend to use that storyline as a way to help Finn grow.
I definitely hate Kitty’s guts now. Even in their worst days, Quinn and Santana didn’t hold a torch to Kitty. That girl just added a new definition to the word mean or maybe I just like Marley too much. I didn’t like the way her eating disorder was addressed though, it was solved too easily for my taste but I think it will be dealt with in later episodes.
Loved the Klaine\Finchel scene. It was exactly what the first post-break up meeting should feel like. And I just wanted to cuddle Blaine and Kurt and tell them everything was going to be okay. The way they kept avoiding each other’s eyes was heartbreaking.
Here are the parts I have a problem with: we’ve already established that Kurt needed to talk to Blaine while Rachel was fine with not talking to Finn because she already had “closure”. What actually happened was that Finchel were the ones who got the closure talk while Klaine didn’t even get a whole minute. I can accept that Kurt felt he wasn’t ready to talk to Blaine although he was saying the exact opposite thing in the start of the episode but the Finchel talk was too much. What was the point of it anyway? They already had their closure and the writers didn’t need to give us a reason for them not talking for a couple of episodes or for Rachel falling for Brody. They’re broken up, they live in different cities and people usually DO move on after a break up.
Finche’s talk just took time from other couples, like say Brittana or Tike. Tike are the most ignored relationship on the show despite being the longest. Fans don’t really voice their displeasure over this simply because we didn’t develop an emotional attachment to them like we did to the other couples. We don’t know all that much about that relationship anyway. Why did they break up in the first place? Was it a mutual decision? We don’t know and I, for one, would’ve chosen a scene with them over the repeated Finchel closure scene.
For someone who supposedly was in love with her girlfriend for years (the sophomore comment in TBU), Santana sure seemed fine and dandy. She didn’t seem too affected until Brittany commented on the song. I would’ve expected that reaction to come several months later, when she accepts the break up and the heartache lessens to the point when she only remembers the good times. But to be that calm and collected? Sorry it’s too soon for me.
Cassandra’s intrusion in There Are Worse Things I Could Do made absolutely no sense. It would’ve been better to keep it just between Santana and Wade. And why the hell was Brody shirtless in the first place?
You’re the One I Want was fun and Ryder and Marley were great. I also liked Rachel’s fantasy. What I loathed though was the awkward camera angle used in that fantasy; it made the actors look SO weird.
Blaine was flawless as Teen Angel. While I’m not fond of the song, the scene was perfect. And the slight hitch in his performance when he locked eyes with Kurt was amazing.

Blaine vs Finn: who needs more help?

There are a lot of different opinions on how the show dealt with both Blaine’s and Finn’s post break up feelings.

While I agree that it’s not fair to disregard what Finn is going through, I did find the focus on him to be a bit ridiculous. There is no denying that Finn is in a very bad place right now. He lost his girlfriend, he couldn’t make it in the army, he’s back in his hometown while the rest of his friends are moving on with their lives and he has no idea what to do next. Finn’s feelings of inadequacy and worthlessness have been prominent in season 3 and they just multiplied in season 4. Also, he tends to make his life revolve around Rachel so losing her left him a mess.

Then you have Blaine who is still dealing with his feelings of loneliness and not being a part of Mckinley. Add that to his heartache over the break up, his guilt and Kurt’s refusal to talk to him, and you get a very emotional Blaine on your hands.

Both of them are depressed and they need help. The only difference in my opinion is the way their friends reacted. For Finn, everybody had been supportive. Artie wanted him to direct the musical with him and kept encouraging him, Mercedes and Mike flew from Los Angeles and Chicago respectively to lend him a hand, Will wanted him to take over Glee, hell even Beiste gave him a pep talk and a boost of confidence.

Blaine, on the other hand, was basically ignored. The only thing he got that resembled help was his talk with Sam. Even that wasn’t helpful at all because Sam basically told him to suck it up because “everybody had been there”. Then when he turned down the lead in the musical and broke down, Artie’s reaction was that “he never saw him so master piece theatre”. I mean, I get Finn’s reaction to the break down. He’s dealing with his own problems and Blaine is the guy who cheated on his brother after all but really, Artie?

So yes, it’s not fair to say that Blaine is hurting more than Finn or that he deserves help more. But the fact remains that Finn is actually getting the support he needs while Blaine is digging himself deeper in his depression with no help from anyone.

4x05 The Role You Were Born to Play

4x05 The Role You Were Born To Play
And Glee is back, ladies and gentlemen.
A very good episode that sent me onto a trip down memory lane to the glory of season one.  It was certainly worth the 5 week hiatus.

So before I start babbling over the cry-fest that was Hopelessly Devoted to You, I have to say that I’m liking the Blaine\Sam bromance more and more. Blaine’s dialogue was heart breaking and yet had that dry sense of humor ( I don’t gel on the weekends & buying a lighthouse and starting an artist colony). I don’t know what’s up with Ryan Murphy and lighthouses this season but it was a humorous cut in the middle of painful scene ( I don’t know if I’m the only details freak to notice that but Eli C’s profile picture was a lighthouse). The only part I didn’t like was Sam’s quick dismissal to Blaine’s feelings.
Hopelessly Devoted to You was just amazing. The set-up, the montage, Blaine’s expressions, everything was just beautiful and I LOVED the meltdown part ( I died a little inside though. It breaks my heart to see Klaine broken up). And Finn’s face was priceless. He went from being mesmerized with the song to uncomfortable to lost then back to uncomfortable in a span of a minute. To me, it felt like he liked the song but was torn because that’s the guy who cheated on his brother. But he could see how broken Blaine was about it and then he was just plain lost on what to say and how to be a director.
Blow me (One Last Kiss) was so lively and fun, I especially liked Marley’s energy in it. I loved Everybody Talks which is saying something because I really don’t like Kitty. Born to Hand Jive felt like it was taken from season 1, all of that energy and dancing around just reminded me of the way Glee started. The only song that I didn’t like was Juke Box Hero, the scene leading to it was great and I liked Finn’s pep talk but the song itself killed my mood.
While the episode focused more on the auditions and Wemma’s relationship troubles, I felt it completely disregarded Britney’s reaction to the break up. She was her usual bubbly self in the couple of shots that she appeared in. That didn’t strike me as very realistic. I get that there’s only so much they can fit in one episode but she came across as being completely fine which is impossible for someone recovering from a painful break up.
Another couple that was disregarded: Tike. They never explained why they broke up in the first place and their scene together was very brief. Also, the last time we saw them talking, Tina refused to audition for Grease. Then she turns up miraculously on the cast list, did we miss something?
The way the club checked the cast list was super cute. I especially loved Blaine’s appreciative look and Kitty’s incredulous reaction was so funny. All in all, it was a great episode and I can’t wait for Kurt, Rachel and Santana to show up in the next one.

4x04 The Break Up

Alright, so considering that I'm a huge Gleek and I get emotionally attached to fictional characters way too much, Glee's episode "The Break Up" really hit me hard so I decided to start a blog dedicated to all things Glee. Well, it's actually dedicated to my sanity which will be gone altogether if Ryan Murphy keeps this up. The blog will mainly be me ranting after every Glee episode so expect a lot of sobbing and flying things but I promise to try my best to be coherent and not to babble all over you.

Now, let's talk about the doomsday of every Glee relationship AKA The Break Up.

We've been warned time and again that we'll get our hearts broken but did we listen? Nooo, we went on to watch the episode while holding onto the hope that our favorite couple won't break up. Except they did, EVERY SINGLE ONE of them did so go ahead, Finchel, Klaine and Brittana fans, curl in a ball and sob your hearts out cause Ryan Murphy just killed every single one of us.

Let me get one thing straight here, I'm a die-hard, hard-core Klainer so that episode was just....No, wait. DO NOT talk about Klaine now or you won't be able to stop for a good while.

So let's start with: Finchel.

In "Makeover", Finn won the "Worst Timing Ever" award  turning up seconds after Rachel and Brody kissed. I honestly expected this episode to begin with a huge fight but alas, I was proven wrong because Finn just "laid there". Apparently Finn was feeling like too much of a failure that he overlooked the fact that Brody was with Rachel and their settings clearly pointed to a date, it only hit him when Rachel and Brody were singing, uh huh sure.

I like Finn, I like him WAY more than I like Rachel but he really grated on my nerves in that episode. He refused to sing with Rachel and basically threw her at Brody, then he got all upset because he had a feeling that they're more than friends, Oh and did I mention that HE basically broke up with HER at the end of last season and didn't even bother to pick up the phone for FOUR FREAKING MONTHS?

And the icing on the top: he sneaked out before she woke up and she had to drive around Lima searching for him. Two words Finn: GROW UP. I'm definitely in Rachel's corner this time and I think the break up was totally deserved .Personally, I think that specific break up was the most justified and well set amongst all three, it's also the most realistic because it actually dealt with Finn's low self esteem versus Rachel's over-the-top confidence. It was the climax to all the college drama they faced in season 3. Lea Michele was great in it and it was nice having Cory Monteith back.

Now let's address the elephant in the room, namely Klaine. WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?, I did expect Klaine to break up but all things were pointing to Blaine ending things due to Kurt's constant state of busyness. They actually started the episode that way, with Kurt's brief phone call and his dismissal to Blaine's feelings (and yes I'm still reeling from the fact that his answer to Blaine's complaint was that Joan something was calling and she always had the best gossip, not cool Kurt). But suddenly the writers decided to turn Mr.Perfect into a cheater and a hypocrite. Okay, let's talk real life here. Feeling neglected by your significant other CAN lead to cheating, but doing it the same day you first mentioned to him that you were feeling left behind? Only after a couple of months of him not being there? Not very realistic after all. I think the only highlight in the entire Klaine story line was the amazing acting Chris Colfer and Darren Criss treated us to. I feel like the writers were aiming for a shock and maybe trying to show that Blaine is human and he does make mistakes after all but all they managed to do is ruin a well written character. You can't take someone who thought texts were cheating and then have him ACTUALLY cheat. My only hope is that they'll explain things in the hook-up flashback.

Now Brittana, where do I start? the fact that it felt very rushed? the ridiculous left behind scenario that took time that could've been used to explore their relationship troubles better? or maybe the fact that up until Santana actually muttered those dreaded words, no one saw that coming? And that's coming from someone who isn't big on Brittana in the first place. It was like they had this great set up for both Brittana and Klaine and their problems as shown in previous episode, then they decided to toss the whole thing out and throw us a curve ball. Maybe the Brittana break up was really addressing what they showed before but the fact that Santana was the one doing the break up and not Britney just destroyed the effect.

Wemma and the Kitty\Jake\Marley triangle just felt out of place. I wouldn't have had a problem if the entire Mckinley gang didn't make an appearance in the episode. It would've spared the time to explain the Brittana and Klaine situation better.

I just discovered that it sounds like I didn't like the episode at all when in reality, I LOVED it. It was hand down the best work I've seen from the cast, which is saying something considering how talented everybody is. From Blaine's Teenage Dream to Kurt's I feel like I'm gonna die, Finn's feelings of inadequacy and Rachel's resignation to the end of her relationship, Britney's left behind dilemma and Santana's mature thing, the six actors and actresses killed it. The only thing I didn't like was the continuing focus on Finchel that drove me up the wall, even when they weren't the center of the scene (Rachel yanking Blaine away from kissing Kurt to hug him made me want to strangle her)

I loved every musical number in that episode. While I wasn't a fan of some of this season's music numbers (A change will do you good, oops I did again and you're never fully dressed without a smile come to mind), this episode's songs were fabulous, especially the Scientist that literally broke my heart with the flashbacks and Don't Speak's sleeping arrangement that consisted basically of turned backs .
