Double standards in judging Blaine

I really don't understand the amount of hate thrown at Blaine lately. Every time anyone talks about Klaine or about Blaine as a person, the answer is always "he cheated". I know that I'm gonna make a lot of comparisons here but there is a hard case of double standards that is driving me nuts.

I'm not trying to say that Blaine is a perfect little angel who can do nothing wrong. He made a horrible mistake and hurt Kurt deeply. He totally deserved Kurt shutting him out and refusing to talk to him. I get all of that and I think it's only fair but why is he being treated like the devil incarnate? He's an 18 year old boy and people make mistakes, teenagers make mistakes. But that one mistake doesn't erase every single good deed he's ever done, it doesn't define who he is. It doesn't change the fact that he had been there for Kurt when no one else was, or that he loved and supported Kurt for more than a year.

I admit that I'm a Blaine stan but I also love Kurt to death. I have no doubt in my mind that Blaine truly loves Kurt. There is no sugarcoating Blaine's cheating but it was a lapse in judgement. It wasn't Blaine being horny and deciding to wreck his relationship with Kurt just for kicks. He was hurt and confused and yes, he made the worst possible decision in this situation but he had done everything in his power to atone for it and he apologized to Kurt time and again. What I'm saying is that Blaine has certainly earned our forgiveness

Now let's talk about the double standards in this fandom. People are hating on Blaine so much and calling him a cheater. Okay, Correct me if I'm wrong but more than half of the characters on Glee have cheated at some point or another. Quinn, Finn, Puck, Rachel, Mercedes, Sam, Brittany, Santana, hell even Will cheated, and no one has ever shunned them the way they're shunning Blaine now.

People are saying that Blaine doesn't deserve Kurt because he hurt them. Let's take a step back from Kurt's romantic relationship and look at Kurt's relationships with the rest of the characters. HummelBerry is being hailed as a wonderful friendship, right? Well, if we really stopped at everything Rachel had done to Kurt, we would have never been able to even remotely tolerate Rachel. This is the girl who ran against him in the elections despite not really needing the extra resume boost and actually told him in BIOTA "who cares about you buddy?" when they disagreed on Blaine's sexuality, she went after a boy whom she knew for a fact that Kurt liked. But we forgave her because she also looked out for Kurt and loved him.

And there's Finn, the guy who pretty much called him a fag and guilted him into backing out of his duet with Sam and didn't stand up for him because he was worried about his reputation. Again, we forgave him after he started being a real brother to Kurt.

So if we managed to forgive Rachel and Finn and Puck who was tossing Kurt in dumpsters, and Santana who was making gay jokes right in front of Kurt. God, even Karofsky who bullied, hate-kissed and threatened Kurt's life, was later forgiven.  We've forgiven all the characters  so much crap because we accept that life isn't black and white and that people screw up but in the end, all of the characters are good people and they try to make up for their mistakes and for every mistake, you'll find a good deed. Isn't that what happens in actual life? I mean, I just talked about people who have hurt Kurt only. I haven't even touched upon all the other things the Glee clubbers have done to each other. If we can forgive all of the others' mishaps, why can't we show the same courtesy to Blaine?

Because he is a cheater. Let's talk facts here. He was insecure and felt like Kurt had forgotten him, he went straight away to Kurt and confessed to his cheating, he was genuinely sorry about it and we've seen how much he was suffering. I'm not trying to downplay his cheating but could anyone please tell me how many people on the show  had the decency to fess up to their cheating? How many of them were sorry because they committed the act and not because it got them in trouble or blew up in their faces?

Exactly three people confessed to their cheating and only two were remorseful. The first was Rachel who told Finn about kissing Puck but she made it like a quid pro quo situation, Finn lied to her and she kissed Puck so now they're equal. The second was Mercedes who confessed to Shane that she kissed Sam and she was torn up about it even before telling Shane, and the third is Blaine. And please don't tell me that Rachel and Mercedes only kissed other guys while Blaine slept with Eli because morally speaking, cheating is cheating, no matter the form.

So why is Blaine being treated like the worst human being on the face of this earth again? Why do we love and defend characters that have done the same mistake, if not worse but refuse to cut him some slack?
